Lulu M is an artist who produces art work emotively and intuitively. The fluid medium of resin has been a focus of her work during the residency, a fitting exploration of form to capture and reflect mobility and shifting energies, of the artist and audience.

A self-taught process-oriented painter, Lulu M appears to let go while at the same time search for control in making and experiencing her work.

The glossy resin on matt black paint creates a contrasting sensory effect in which chosen color pigments such as green and red ripple through reflective pools of darkness, giving glimpses of hope and spontaneity as they surface.

These works, titled Night Glow, Blood Moon, Drops of Jupiter, Cosmic Haze, and Solar Storm (all 2016) play with the temporality of existence, the universe, and our cosmic reading of the world while referencing the augmentation of nature and organic systems through chemical reactions and formations
